An architectural artist or illustrator is an artist who creates architectural renderings and architectural illustrations for the design professional that very accurately portrays the details of an architectural project. These images are necessary to communicate design ideas to clients, owners, committees, customers, and the general public.
An architectural drawing or architectural rendering is a technical drawing of a building (or building project) that falls within the definition of architecture.
Previously in history, drawings were made in ink on paper or pen and watercolor, and any copies required had to be drawn by hand. The previous century saw a shift to drawing on tracing paper so that mechanical copies could be run off efficiently. Computer development had significantly changed the methods used to design and create architectural renderings. Rabinky Art, LLC completely switched from paper and pen to digital drawing of architectural illustrations. However, the final artwork of architectural illustration looks pretty much the same as a hand-drawn architectural rendering. Most of our illustrations are hand-drawn and colored digitally, so they have a watercolor look, but the colors could be adjusted if necessary.
There are three types of architectural renderings: Exterior Renderings, Interior Renderings, and Aerial Renderings.
The exterior rendering is when the buildings and other objects are shown as the point of view, or the viewing angle is located outside of the building. In contrast, interior renderings are defined as images where the vantage point or viewing angle is located inside the building. Aerial renderings are similar to exterior renderings. However, their viewing angle is located outside and above the building, looking down, usually at an angle.
Moreover, Maria Rabinky has a master’s degree and Fine Arts and Architecture. Therefore, these skills become very handy when a client needs an architectural rendering for their project.
Many varieties of projects and purposes may require Architectural illustration.
