Washington DC Illustration
Washington DC Illustration created for APA 113th Annual Convention in 2005. The APA is the American Psychological Association, which is the largest and leading scientific and professional organization of psychologists in the United States. APA has over 121,000 members, including scientists, educators, clinicians, consultants, and students.
Psychology is the study of mind and behavior. The discipline includes all characteristics of human nature, from the functions of the brain to the actions of nations, from child development to care for the aged people. As psychological research presents new information, whether it’s improved methods to treat depression or how humans communicate with machines, these findings become part of the discipline’s body of knowledge. They are used in work with patients and clients, in schools, in corporate environments, within the judicial structure, even in college and professional sports.
Psychology is a doctoral profession. Psychologists study both normal and abnormal behavior and treat all patients with mental and emotional pathologies. They are also researching and encouraging behaviors that create wellness and emotional strength. These days, as the connection between the human mind and body is well-recognized, more and more psychologists are integrating their affords in helping people with other health care professionals to provide whole-person health care for patients.
Every year the American Psychological Association is hosting its annual conventions in a different city of United States. APA offers four days of education, research, and networking with leaders in the field of psychology.
Every year APA commissioning different artists to create an illustration like Washington DC Illustration, which they use in the convention’s promotional materials: brochure cover, vignette illustration in the brochure internal pages, souvenirs, and give-outs.
Rabinky Art, LLC, was rewarded with this assignment three years in a row! We worked on the Washington DC Illustration in 2005 for APA 113th Annual Convention. In 2006 Maria Rabinky created New Orleans Illustration for the APA 114th Annual Convention. And in 2007 was created San Francisco Map Illustration for the APA 115th Annual Convention.
We are very proud of this small collection of illustrations for the American Psychological Association.
